GWM New Zealand is preparing for a major presence at this year’s Fieldays event, aiming to capitalise on strong recent sales momentum and growing brand recognition among Kiwi buyers.
The Chinese automaker enters the annual agricultural showcase after achieving a top-five position in New Zealand’s automotive market during April.

Building on its successful partnership with the New Zealand Warriors, GWM will unveil a new “GWM Sales Stadium” activation at Fieldays, inspired by the popular “Wahs Selling Cars” campaign that has helped raise the brand’s profile across the country.

Located at site J26, the activation will feature a large indoor showroom alongside an outdoor demonstration area complete with a rugby league field, stadium-style seating, a giant screen and a towing challenge designed to highlight the capability of GWM’s growing model range.
Several Warriors sponsors will also be involved in the display. V Energy will showcase the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability of the GWM Cannon Alpha PHEV Hi4-T by using the ute to power a branded refrigeration unit, while Arnott’s will offer visitors the chance to win a boot-load of Shapes products.

Fieldays visitors will also have access to a range of event-exclusive promotions.
These include up to $4000 worth of free accessories with every GWM Cannon purchased, a zero-deposit finance offer with three months deferred payments, and the opportunity to secure one of just 50 examples of the new limited-edition Cannon XSR.
GWM will also offer exclusive Warriors-themed number plates for the first six vehicle purchases made during the event, alongside limited-edition GWM gumboots and the chance to win a premium sideline experience at a Warriors home game.
NZ Country Manager Cameron Thomas said the event represents an important opportunity for the brand to engage directly with New Zealand consumers.

“Fieldays is one of the most important events on the New Zealand calendar for us. It provides an incredible platform to connect directly with Kiwis, showcase our growing range, and continue building strong relationships through partnerships that genuinely resonate with New Zealand audiences.”
Thomas said GWM’s recent market performance demonstrates the brand’s growing acceptance among local buyers.
“To now be ranked in the top five automotive brands in New Zealand and become the leading Chinese automotive brand is a significant achievement for our team, dealer network, and customers. Fieldays is the perfect opportunity to celebrate that momentum while showing people exactly where the GWM brand is heading,” said Thomas.
