Lexus has announced that it will reveal a sleek next-generation EV concept next month, previewing a future production model due to be launched in 2026.
Unfortunately for us, the luxury carmaker is staying tight-lipped on what its new model is called and any detailed technical specifications.
However, it says that the new model will feature a “revolutionary modular vehicle body structure” as well as a completely new software platform.
It’ll also be manufactured using a “drastically changed production method”, whatever that may mean.
Just one image of the car was shown, highlighting its angular body lines, slim wing mirrors (likely cameras), and low-slung roof. We also see distinct Lexus design motifs including a set of L-shaped headlights.
Upon closer inspection, the front end looks much like the one found on a five-door design sketch released by Toyota last week when the brand announced details about its next-gen battery technology.
The same sketch also features a Lexus badge on the C-pillar, leading us to believe this is the same car. If so, the EV will likely feature a selection of Toyota’s future lithium-ion or solid-state batteries, one of which offers up to 1000km of driving range.
Lexus will reveal the next-generation EV concept at the Japan Mobility Show in October.
