Pajero will return with its dials intact 

Mitsubishi has offered another glimpse of the next-generation Pajero ahead of its global debut later this year, revealing new details about the SUV’s off-road technology and reviving one of the model’s most recognisable features.

Set to be unveiled in the third quarter, the all-new Pajero is being engineered to deliver what Mitsubishi describes as “authentic” cross-country capability, with a focus on maintaining safety, comfort and driver confidence across a wide range of terrain and weather conditions.

At the centre of the latest teaser is the return of the Pajero’s iconic Multi Meter display. A familiar feature in earlier generations of the SUV, the system has been reimagined as a digital triple-meter display integrated into the vehicle’s instrument cluster.

The new Multi Meter provides drivers with a range of real-time off-road information, including altitude, compass heading, ambient temperature, vehicle pitch and roll angles, and left-to-right torque distribution.

Mitsubishi says the display is designed to help drivers better understand changing terrain conditions and vehicle behaviour when venturing off the beaten track.

According to the company, the system will prove particularly useful when tackling steep inclines, rocky trails, muddy tracks, winding mountain roads and uneven forest paths by giving drivers instant feedback on vehicle dynamics.

Mitsubishi has yet to release detailed technical specifications for the new Pajero, although the SUV is expected to continue the nameplate’s long-standing reputation for serious off-road ability when it makes its full debut later this year.
