If you own a Peugeot, or have one on your shopping list, you can relax. The brand’s New Zealand distributor has moved quickly to reassure Kiwi buyers that Peugeot is here to stay, following news of distribution changes across the Tasman.
“Peugeot New Zealand, via the local importer Auto Distributors (ADNZ), remains 100% committed to our market, dealer partners and customers,” says Brian Carr, ADNZ general manager. “We want to reassure our loyal customers that the situation in New Zealand remains very much business as usual.”

The confusion stems from Australia, where Inchcape and Stellantis have mutually agreed to end their Peugeot distribution partnership. Some coverage has framed the announcement as the end of the brand on both sides of the Tasman. That’s not the case. Peugeot continues in Australia, where Stellantis says it will provide updates on its local plans in due course, and the New Zealand operation is entirely unaffected.
That’s because Peugeot’s local distributor has no connection to Inchcape. ADNZ, part of Rick Armstrong’s automotive group, holds the Peugeot agency in New Zealand in its own right, and also distributes sister brand Citroen locally.

Carr says all sales and servicing needs will continue to be met by the local dealer network, and existing and new customers can expect no disruption.
Rather than just words, ADNZ is backing its commitment with two changes from July. The 3008 GT gains an upgraded specification, now standard with Alcantara trim and full electric seat adjustment including massage function. And every new model across the Peugeot passenger and SUV range now comes with complimentary three-year servicing as standard.
“As one of Stellantis’ four key brands, ADNZ wants to emulate the success Peugeot has achieved elsewhere across many other countries,” says Carr. “We remain committed to building the success of Peugeot in New Zealand.”
