Watch: Ford’s new Tourneo Courier is a an SUV, van, and hot hatch all in one

Words: Autocar

The Ford Tourneo Courier fills a strange niche in the automotive world. It’s part car, and part van, and while that might sound like a strange match-up, the results are very impressive.

With Ford’s 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine beneath the bonnet, the Courier gets along nicely, almost bordering on hot hatch territory.

The seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission also leans into this sporty nature, sending power exclusively to the front wheels.

We recently spent a bit of time with the little Ford van, and the results genuinely surprised us, as it’s almost a Swiss Army Knife of a car.

Despite it’s compact footprint, genius packaging has meant there’s plenty of room for passengers and stuff in the back.
