Audi has revealed an update for the A3, S3 and RS3, which focuses on interior technology.
Unlike most mid-cycle facelifts, which update the vehicle’s exterior, Audi has left the aesthetic of these small hatches unchanged.
In saying this, Audi has updated the daytime running LED light signatures of some variants.
The update centres around the infotainment screen, which is now the same as what you’d find in the Q5 among other larger Audi vehicles.
This panoramic display consists of a 11.9-inch digital cluster, accompanied by a 12.8-inch infotainment screen.
Both these displays are integrated into a panel that is curved towards the driver. Following this theme, the 25W wireless phone charger is also angled towards the driver.
Controversially, these larger screens mean most of the physical controls have been integrated into the screen. Audi claims that they are anchored to the base of the display, so can still be easily accessed.
There’s also a slew of driver assistance updates, such as an adaptive cruise control system that can monitor traffic lights.
According to Audi, it will automatically stop at red lights, and then roll off again once it turns green.
A spokesperson from Audi New Zealand wasn’t able to comment on local availability or timing of these new models.
