BYD New Zealand has announced it has secured three additional vehicle shipments to fulfill current customer orders.
These shipments, which will arrive throughout the month of July, will bring a total of 1,250 new vehicles into the country.

They will arrive on July 1 July, 16 July, and 20 July, reportedly filling all current customer orders by the end of August.
On top of this, “further significant shipping capacity” has also been secured for August, according to Warren Willmot, BYD New Zealand’s General Manager.
News of these additional shipments comes off the back of BYD New Zealand advising customers of potential prolonged wait times.

The announcement, which was put out to the public in June, cited increased EV demand and rising fuel costs as reasons why new customers may face delays.
We saw this increased EV demand in the May new vehicles sales figures, with BYD registering a 871 per cent increase for the month year-on-year.
The Atto 3 also returned to prominence for the month, recording 142 sales and re-entering the top 15 passenger vehicle rankings.
