Armstong’s has issued a recall for the Dongfeng Vigo in New Zealand, over brake calipers bolts that might not be torqued to spec.
According to the notice that was published to the NZTA website, this issue affects Vigo SUVs from the 2025 to 2026 model years.
The statement reads:
“On some Dongfeng Vigo, the caliper bolts may not be sufficiently torqued.”
To gather more information, NZ Autocar reached out to Armstrong’s, and a spokesperson provided the following:
“As part of Dongfeng New Zealand’s ongoing quality improvement process, affected customers are asked to visit their local Dongfeng dealer for a precautionary front brake caliper bolt torque check.
“The factory has advised that some vehicles may require a confirmation check to ensure the caliper bolts are torqued to specification.
“While this is a preventative inspection rather than a confirmed vehicle fault, Dongfeng New Zealand has chosen to launch a recall campaign because the check relates to the braking system and customer safety is our priority.
“Dongfeng New Zealand will contact affected customers (117x) directly to arrange the inspection, which is expected to take approximately 30 minutes and will be completed by trained Dongfeng technicians at no cost to the customer.”
