Geely has unveiled the new Galaxy Cruiser 700 SUV, and it looks to be aimed squarely at the Toyota Land Cruiser 300.
The biggest talking point for this new off-roader is its plug-in hybrid powertrain, which produces a hefty 830kW.
This system utilises a petrol engine which is paired with three electric motors. Two of these are mounted on the rear axle.
It tips the scales around 2.9-tonnes, but with its power figure, manages to reach a power-to-weight ratio of 288kW per tonne.
Aside from these figures, not much information about the Galaxy Cruiser 700 has been revealed.
It obviously adopts a familiar off-road SUV aesthetic with boxy styling and large wheel arches.
It also gets big bumpers, and a side-hinged tailgate with a full-size spare wheel mounted on the back.
With vertical taillights and rounded headlights, it’s easy to see the inspiration Geely has taken from the Land Rover Defender here.
On the roof, a LiDAR sensor can be seen, and it’s likely Geely will implement the G-ASD G-Pilot H7 driver assistance program in this vehicle.
