GWM’s new Ora 5 has arrived in New Zealand, with first shipments landing now and cars expected to reach dealer showrooms across the country within the coming days.
GWM has reportedly seen solid interest in the Ora 5 since it was announced, and is expecting solid sales momentum right out of the gate.

Priced from $36,990, the Ora 5 is now New Zealand’s cheapest EV SUV and is offered in two variants — the Lux from $36,990 and the Ultra from $39,990.
The arrival of the Ora 5 is a big deal for GWM, which has been building steady momentum in the New Zealand market.
According to NZTA data, the brand currently sits as the country’s 3rd biggest PHEV brand and 4th biggest for hybrid year-to-date.

GWM ANZ Chief Operating Officer John Kett says the Ora 5 is the culmination of a long-held ambition for the brand. “It’s no secret that we’ve been keen to add a fully electrified SUV to the range for some time and the Ora 5 SUV is the perfect model to kick start GWM’s EV ambitions.”
With more ORA models expected to launch later this year, GWM has its sights firmly set on a Top 5 position in the New Zealand EV market.
