The Automobile Club of Monaco has appointed Ineos as the official emergency vehicle supplier for the country’s motorsport events.
Nine Grenadier Quartermasters have been supplied for duty, and will sit trackside for future F1 and electric races.
Wearing a red livery, the utes have been outfitted by a Portuguese heavy-duty and emergency specialist.
They are capable of carrying four firefighters, and are able to rapidly respond to any on track emergency around the circuit.
The fit-out includes extrication equipment and a high-performance firefighting unit for fire attacks using either water or treated water.
The factory-fitted High Load Electrical Preparation powers a comprehensive light and sound warning system (lightbar, strobe lights, and area scene lighting).
Aside from an uprated rear suspension to support the equipment, the technical base reportedly required no further structural modifications.
Lieutenant-colonel Maxime Yvrard, Chief of the Corps des Sapeurs-Pompiers de Monaco, stated: “The Grenadier underwent rigorous testing to ensure its capability to safely and effectively meet the extreme demands of an extraction and fire response vehicle, particularly on the Monaco circuit as well as on the roads of the WRC Monte-Carlo Rally. Monaco’s firefighters have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the Grenadier and have been deeply impressed by its strength and durability.”
The deal has been inked for six years between Ineos and the Automobile Club of Monaco.
