New Kia Stonic to land in New Zealand at $27,990
Words: Andrew Sluys
Kia has announced New Zealand pricing for the facelifted Stonic, which will start from $27,990 when it lands next year.
Set to arrive in Q1 2026, this entry-level LX model benefits from a $2,000 “special launch price”.

The range-topping GT-Line will arrive later in 2026, priced from $35,990.
On the outside, its styling has been updated to fall in line with the rest of the Kia range, with bold daytime running lights and an angular bumper.
It’s a similar story at the rear of the SUV, with the brake lights undergoing the same treatment.
Under the Stonic’s fresh new fascia is the same turbocharged 1.0-litre petrol engine. This mill makes 74kW and 172Nm of torque, and is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The biggest change inside the Stonic are the HVAC controls, which are now accessed through the screen.
As for safety, Kia claims the Stonic offers one of the best packages in its class. This includes lane-keep assist, lane-follow assist, multi-collision brake, and forward-collision avoidance assist. The GT-Line also gets blind-spot collision assist.
Though Kia New Zealand has indicated the entry-level Stonic LX will arrive in Q1 of 2026, it hasn’t signalled an arrival date for the GT-Line variant.
An end date for the $2,000 launch discount on the Stonic LX also hasn’t been provided.
