Dubai Police adds 680kW Lamborghini Temerario to Tourist Patrol Fleet

Words: Andrew Sluys

Famous for its fleet of high-performance patrol cars, the Dubai Police have added yet another Lamborghini to its line-up.

The latest is the Temerario, which pairs a twin-turbo V8 engine with a plug-in hybrid system to produce a hefty chunk of power.

Officially, the Temerario is rated at 686kW and 900Nm, which is sent to all four wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.

It is able to hit 100km/h in just 2.7-seconds, before topping out at an Autobahn-storming 343km/h.

Aside from the performance, the 4.0-litre V8 engine is also quite notable in the fact that it redlines at 10,000rpm.

According to Brigadier Saeed Al Hajri, Director of the General Department of Criminal Investigation at Dubai Police, bringing another Lamborghini into the fleet is far more than a crime-chasing move.

It’s more about marketing, and building a relationship with the tourists that visit Dubai, and expect to see their lavish way of life.

“Our luxury patrol fleet represents an innovative approach to policing, combining an effective security presence with community and tourist engagement.

“These vehicles help people feel safe, showcase Dubai’s positive image to visitors from around the world, and raise awareness of police services and public safety.

The force also have a Mansory Ferrari 812 in the fleet

Above all, they reinforce our commitment to being a police force that is close to the community,” he said.

Colonel Mohammad Abdulrahman Abdulwahid, Director of the Tourist Police Department at Dubai Police also spoke on the acquisition.

“At Dubai Police, we are committed to keeping pace with global developments and adopting initiatives that reflect Dubai’s leadership and unique character.

“The addition of the Lamborghini Temerario demonstrates our continued efforts to develop our luxury patrol fleet and strengthen strategic partnerships with the private sector, contributing to a better quality of life, community happiness and an exceptional experience for Dubai’s visitors,” he said.
