Mazda has updated the CX-60 range in New Zealand, dropping the plug-in hybrid option, and moving to an exclusively mild hybrid offering.
Where Mazda previously offered a range of models across the two powertrains, the line-up has been simplified to just three models.
At $69,990, the CX-60 SP Hybrid e-SKYACTIV G 3.3 is the only non-Takami now on offer.
The other two Takami models are both priced at $78,990, with the Kuro representing the newest addition to the range.
The 3.3-litre turbocharged straight-six engine used across the range produces a reasonable 209kW and 450Nm.
This is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, which sends power to all four wheels.
Despite the lack of price premium over the standard Takami, this new CX-60 Kuro now represents the flagship model in the range.
Translating to “black” in Japanese, the Kuro name references the black accents on the exterior and inside of the CX-60. Interestingly, it features a tan Nappa leather interior, which obviously isn’t black.
Other interior highlights include a Bose audio system, electric steering wheel adjustment with heating and ventilation, along with heated outer rear seats.
The CX-60 Takami contrasts the Kuro with chrome exterior accents, and a light-coloured leather interior.
This white Nappa leather upholstery is contrasted with a woodgrain trim, and the creature comforts are the same as the Kuro.
The updated CX-60 range will be available from late July.
