Mitsubishi’s upcoming Pajero is easily the most anticipated release the company has had in a number of years, and it’s getting closer.
In the build up to the model’s official unveiling, which is set for sometime before the end of this year, we’ve been given a glimpse of the SUV’s interior.
Though the video doesn’t give away much, it’s the best official look we’ve had at the inside of the SUV yet.
From the split-second glimpse, we can glean what looks to be a two-tone cabin, pairing beige and black leather trims.
There’s also stitching on the top of the door card, complimenting the trim combination.
Already, this seems to be a more upmarket offering than what we’ve seen from the Pajero previously.
Though the statements of the people that appear in the video have to be taken with a grain of salt, they mention how impressed they are with its premium nature.
It seems to have surprised them, whereas comments on how roomy the interior is are to be expected.
It was previously confirmed that this new Pajero will launch in three trims, spanning from basic to premium.
Mitsubishi has also confirmed the new Pajero rides on a ladder-frame chassis derived from the current Triton ute, and positions it as the brand’s future flagship.
It gets four-wheel drive, a bespoke cabin rather than one lifted from the ute, and model-specific suspension at both axles to separate it from the Triton. Mitsubishi describes it as a new flagship that embodies the brand’s spirit of adventure.
In practical terms it effectively replaces the Pajero Sport, dropping the Sport suffix in the process.
