British restomod specialist Theon Design has revealed its latest interpretation of the air-cooled Porsche 911, a heavily re-engineered 964-generation coupe.
Built as a one-off commission, the latest creation features a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six producing 421bhp (314kW), driving the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission.
Weighing in at 1146kg thanks to extensive use of carbon fibre, Theon says the bespoke build achieves a power-to-weight ratio greater than that of the current Porsche 911 GT3 (992.2), while retaining the analogue driving experience that defines the firm’s approach to restomodding.

Finished in Crayon Grey with contrasting Lizard Green highlights, the latest commission takes a subtle approach to visual customisation.
The full carbon-fibre bodywork is complemented by smoked lighting elements, brushed Eclipse exterior trim and a matching Turbonite Porsche bonnet crest. Sitting beneath the widened guards are 17-inch wheels finished in Anthracite and Black, while Lizard Green brake calipers provide a splash of colour against the otherwise restrained exterior.
314kW flat-six with multiple personalities
In behind the rear axle sits a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six producing 314kW and 439Nm of torque.
Managed by a MoTeC ECU and power distribution system, the engine features carbon-fibre covers and carbon-infused intake trumpets. A drive-by-wire throttle system allows the driver to select different operating modes ranging from Town and Sport settings through to Race mode.
A dedicated “Raucous” mode is said to unlock the car’s full character while raising the rear spoiler and activating a more aggressive exhaust note complete with crackles and pops.

TracTive semi-active suspension offers five selectable settings, allowing the owner to switch between comfortable road driving and more focused performance use. Each is individually calibrated to suit the customer’s preferences rather than being built to a fixed specification.
The car also features a front-axle lift system to improve everyday usability.
Fully tailored
Like every Theon Design project, the cabin has been customised specifically for its owner.
Carbon-fibre interior panels are trimmed in Liquorice leather with subtle Lizard Green stitching throughout. Recaro RS seats, bespoke aluminium footboards and machined metal switchgear further enhance the handcrafted feel.

The instrument cluster receives unique colour-matched detailing, while modern technology has been discreetly integrated into the classic cabin.
An original Becker Mexico head unit is paired with a Hertz amplifier and six-speaker Focal audio system, while a carbon-fibre centre console incorporates wireless smartphone charging.
A 6000-hour build process
Theon says each commission requires approximately 6000 hours to complete, with customers working closely alongside the company’s designers and engineers throughout the process.
Production remains deliberately exclusive. The company plans to complete just six customer vehicles during 2026.

Prices for a Theon commission start from £430,000 (approximately NZ$960,000), before the cost of the donor vehicle, shipping and local taxes.
