The newest instalment of the Transformers film franchise is being made now, and the 2010 Holden Barina will star as an Autobot, reports the Sydney Morning Herald.
One of the new robots in disguise is the Chevrolet Spark, otherwise known as the Holden Barina on our shores. The Barina will join the Commodore-based Chevrolet Camaro as part of General Motors’ deal to be principal vehicle supplier.
Two new Sparks will be the replacements for the Transformer twins, Skidz and Mudflap.
Skidz and Mudflap were controversial characters in the previous film, with some saying that they embodied racist stereotypes.
The cars have been kitted with trick-looking big wheels with Autobot centre caps, as well as an oversized body-kit, carbon-fibre mirror covers, dark window tint and custom paintwork.
