Dongfeng has announced pricing and specification for the all-new 007 electric vehicle, which the brand is describing as a “Fastback Coupe”.
The 007 joins the Vigo and the Box, already on sale in New Zealand, rounding out a three-strong model range distributed by Armstrong’s.
Despite sharing a name with the famous British spy, the 007 looks far less Aston Martin than it does Tesla Model 3.
The 007 range starts with the Long Range model at $54,990, and finishes with the Performance at $59,990.
Both models are powered by a 70kWh battery, and the rear-wheel drive Long Range model is rated to 520km (WLTP).
The single electric motor on the rear axle of the Long Range model produces 200kW and 320Nm of torque.
The 007 Performance prioritises speed over range with its all-wheel drive system, and the two motors produce peak figures of 400kW and 640Nm.
This allows the 007 Performance to hit 100km/h in 3.9-seconds, which is not far off the likes of the Tesla Model 3 Performance.
Due to the higher power output, maximum range of the 007 Performance is rated to 389km (WLTP).
As for charging, both models are able to hit 200kW, at which they will go from 30 per cent to 80 per cent in 26 minutes.
Standard equipment across both models includes a panoramic glass sunroof, 19-inch alloy wheels, and an electric tailgate.
On the inside it gets ventilated leather seats, wireless phone charging and Apple Car Play. It looks like Android Auto can be added as an option.
As for paint, Morning White is available for free, but any other hue will come at a $499 premium. These include Night Shadow Black, Sun Gold, Stone Grey and, exclusively for the Performance version, Orchid Purple.
A full safety suite is offered as standard on the 007, including Autonomous Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert with Braking and Intelligent Door Opening Warning.
Dongfeng will cover the 007 with a six-year/200,000km vehicle warranty, and an eight-year/200,000 battery warranty.
