Ferrari is keeping the V8 alive for at least another few years, unveiling the roof-less version of its Amalfi sports car.
Dubbed the Amalfi Spider, this roadster is based on the Roma coupe, albeit with a slew of upgrades.

On the outside, the only change from the Amalfi coupe is the lack of roof, retaining the same classy styling.
Beneath the bonnet sits a 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 engine making 470kW and 760Nm of torque.
This is paired with an eight-speed dual clutch automatic transmission, sending power exclusively to the rear wheels.

It also makes use of Ferrari’s latest and greatest chassis control technology, which includes brake-by-wire and a new side slip system.
Despite losing its roof, the Amalfi Spider is only a touch heavier than its fixed-roof counterpart, tipping the scales at 1,555kg.

This is achieved through the use of a folding fabric hardtop instead of the folding hardtop that was used by the California and Portofino.
