Jaecoo New Zealand has confirmed the J5 Hybrid will be joining its local range from August 1, 2026.
With just one variant being offered at launch, the J5 Hybrid will be priced from $39,990 before on-road costs.

In New Zealand, it will join the J5 EV which has been on sale locally for a number of months now.
It is powered by a turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine which is paired with an electric motor on the front axle.
The combined outputs are 165kW and 295Nm, which is delivered exclusively to the front wheels through a dedicated hybrid transmission.

Jaecoo claims a combined fuel economy figure of 5.6L/100km for this J5 Hybrid.
Standard equipment is almost identical to the J5 EV, with an 8.8-inch digital cluster, a 13.2-inch infotainment display, and wireless phone projection.
It also gets 18-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, heated/ventilated front seats, and a powered tailgate.
Jaecoo New Zealand backs this J5 Hybrid with a seven year/unlimited KM warranty, and an eight-year/unlimited KM battery warranty.
