Jaecoo New Zealand has announced pricing for the all-new J5 EV SUV, which will land locally in March.
Just one variant of the J5 will be offered in New Zealand, and it will start from $42,990 before on-road costs.
It seems Jaecoo is targeting the animal loving outdoorsy demographic with this SUV, labelling it “rugged” and “pet friendly.”
This J5 will be powered by a 58.9kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, providing a driving range of up to 402km (WLTP).
As for charging, it’s rated to a DC max of 130kW, which will go from 30 per cent to 80 per cent in 28 minutes on a fast charger.
It sends power to an electric motor on the front axle, which produces 155kW and 288Nm of torque.
Exterior features include 18-inch alloy wheels, and an EV-specific grille with “active aero.”
On the inside, it features a 13.2-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple Carplay and Android auto connectivity.
There’s also 480-litres of luggage capacity behind the rear seats.
It also gets pet-friendly seats made of a silicon-based material which is reportedly anti-bacterial and makes cleaning up a lot easier.
As for a warranty, it gets a seven-year general warranty, and an eight-year battery warranty. Both of which are unlimited KM.
