Jaguar gives the world its first glimpse of upcoming Type 01’s interior

While Jaguar is keeping the covers firmly on the Type 01’s exterior, we’ve now been given a glimpse of the car’s interior.
According to the British brand, the ethos behind its design is an “interior that gives every journey a sense of occasion.”
We’re not too sure what that translates to in normal talk, but the image shows an interior that looks in-line with what we’ve seen from high-end EVs previously.
The spine that runs through the centre of the vehicle is designed to create four individual spaces.
The driving position is described as “cossetting”, which means cozy to the more normal folk.
It also includes a “tonal interior palette” that “reflects the enduring beauty of travertine stone.”
In other words, it’s a reasonably luxurious place to be, that will probably reflect a price tag well into the six-figure region.
Speaking on the design, Jaguar’s Chief Interior Designer Thomas Holden said:
“Our holistic design philosophy translates the vehicle’s exterior presence into a distinctive interior architecture.
“In contrast to the horizontal interior design norm, we emphasise its dramatic longitudinal nature through the central spine – an architectural statement that creates four individual spaces.
“With authentic materials, technology on demand and reductive flowing surfaces, Type 01 presents unmistakable drama and theatre that will define the modern luxury automotive interior of the future.”
Jaguar has released this information ahead of the Pebble Beach Concours, where the Type 01 will be displayed under a new wrap.
The full vehicle will be unveiled in New York on October 6.
