Mercedes-Benz New Zealand has confirmed pricing for the updated GLC range, including the all-electric 400 4MATIC, and AMG models.
Starting at $128,900, the electric GLC 400 4MATIC features a dual-motor all-wheel drive system that produces 360kW and 800Nm.
Performance-wise, it can hit 100km/h from a standing start in 4.3-seconds.
It’s powered by a 94.4kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) battery, which allows for a maximum driving range of 630km (WLTP).
Thanks to its 800-volt system, it can be DC charged at up to 330kW, which will replenish 300km of range in just 10 minutes.
It wears 21-inch alloy wheels as standard, and features an AMG Line styling pack. The Night Package includes gloss black exterior accents.
On the inside, it gets Mercedes’ MBUX Superscreen, and the 39-inch MBUX Hyperscreen is an optional extra.
Mercedes notes this electric GLC features a wheelbase that’s 84mm longer than that of the petrol-powered version, increasing second-row legroom.
Mercedes-Benz New Zealand adds a limited launch edition is available without the MBUX Superscreen for $126,000.
Alongside this electric GLC, the pricing for the AMG variants was also announced, with both the SUV and Coupe available locally.
Starting at $158,400 for the GLC 53 4MATIC+ SUV, and jumping to $162,500 for the Coupe variant, these are available to order now.
As the 53 moniker suggests, these SUVs miss out on a V8, and instead use a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six engine.
Despite this lack of cylinders, outputs are still impressive at 330kW and 600Nm, with an extra 40Nm available through the boost function.
Power is sent to all four wheels through a nine-speed automatic transmission.
This allows the AMG GLCs to hit 100km/h from a standing start in 4.2-seconds.
A 48-volt mild hybrid system helps with fuel consumption, and Mercedes claims a combined figure for this model of 9.6L/100km.
Standard kit is similar to that of the electric version, with 21-inch AMG-specific wheels, and two different night packages fitted.
Buyers can opt for the AMG Dynamic Plus package, which adds a rear locking differential, AMG engine mounts, red brake calipers, and a drift mode. This is offered at an extra $3,700.
