Corvette Z06 gets big price cut, now $309,990

Chevrolet’s 2027 Corvette Z06 is now available to order in New Zealand, priced at $309,990 and offered exclusively as a build-to-order 3LZ Coupe.
Orders opened on 1 October, with production scheduled to begin at GM’s Bowling Green plant in January 2027. Local delivery timing will depend on the specification of each car and its production slot.
That’s a big price reduction since we drove it back in 2025 when it went for $346,000. Adding all the carbon fibre bits sent the price north of $400k. There are a few near new Z06s for sale on the web asking just that, so guess they will be on sale soon.
The Z06 retains its hand-assembled 5.5-litre naturally aspirated LT6 V8, but gains Chevrolet’s revised three-screen cockpit and expanded performance technology. Buyers also have an extensive choice of colours, wheels, interior finishes and track-focused options.
“The new Z06 combines the iconic naturally aspirated V8, genuine track capability and an impressive level of personalisation,” said Greg Rowe, acting managing director of General Motors Australia and New Zealand.
A V8 that revs to 8600rpm
The flat-plane-crank V8 produces 475kW at 8550rpm and 595Nm at 6300rpm, with an 8600rpm redline. It features variable valve timing and dry-sump lubrication, and drives through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission with a Z06-specific final-drive ratio.
Standard chassis equipment includes Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 adaptive damping, an electronic limited-slip differential and Brembo brakes with six-piston front calipers.
For buyers planning regular circuit use, the optional Z07 Performance Package adds carbon-fibre aerodynamic components, including a high rear spoiler, performance suspension, upgraded brakes and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tyres.
Carbon-ceramic Brembo brakes are also available, with six brake-caliper colour choices across the option range. Orange and blue calipers can be selected with the carbon-ceramic package.
More screens, more performance data
The redesigned cockpit combines a 14-inch driver display with a 12.7-inch centre screen and a 6.6-inch auxiliary touchscreen to the right of the steering wheel. The drive-mode selector has been relocated, while wireless charging and additional USB-C connections are included.
The Performance Data Recorder gains side-by-side video analysis and automated speed tips, giving drivers more tools to review their circuit sessions. There’s also dedicated access to Performance Traction Management, including PTM Pro Mode.
Connected features include built-in Google Maps, Google Gemini and the Google Play Store, along with Chevrolet Connected Services, mobile-app access and over-the-air updates. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are supported.
The high-grade 3LZ specification brings GT2 bucket seats with Nappa leather and carbon-fibre detailing, suede-like microfibre upper trim, carbon-fibre steering-wheel detailing and paddles, a head-up display and a 14-speaker Bose audio system.
A front-lift system with memory, removable roof and soft-close front luggage compartment and rear engine hatch are standard.
Built to the buyer’s specification
Every MY27 Z06 will be produced against a confirmed customer order. Ten exterior colours are offered, including new Pitch Grey Metallic, Admiral Blue Metallic and Roswell Green Metallic finishes.
Wheel choices span 20-inch fronts and 21-inch rears, with several finishes and carbon-fibre options. Buyers can also specify carbon-fibre ground effects, a carbon-fibre or transparent removable roof, racing stripes and an engine appearance package with carbon-fibre panels and LED lighting. A red engine cover is another option.
The announcement follows the MY26 Corvette Stingray and E-Ray launches, along with the limited-run Z06 Bathurst 12 Hour Special Edition.
