Hyundai has announced the debut of the i30 Sedan N TCR in Gran Turismo 7, with the race car set to arrive as part of the game’s January 2026 update.
The announcement was made during the Gran Turismo World Series 2025 World Final in Fukuoka, Japan, and coincides with the 10th anniversary of the Hyundai N performance brand. It also marks a decade-long collaboration between Hyundai Motor Company and Polyphony Digital, the studio behind the Gran Turismo franchise.
The i30 Sedan N TCR, known in some markets as the Elantra N TCR, will appear in the game under the name ‘ELANTRA N TC’. The model has established a strong reputation in global touring car competition, including five consecutive class wins at the Nürburgring 24 Hours from 2021 to 2025, three straight FIA TCR World Tour drivers’ championships between 2022 and 2024, and back-to-back TCR Australia drivers’ titles in 2023 and 2024.

Hyundai said the inclusion of the TCR car reflects its ongoing commitment to motorsport-derived performance, both on track and in digital racing environments.
“We are proud to announce the launch of the i30 Sedan N TCR in Gran Turismo 7 at the Gran Turismo World Series 2025 World Final,” said Joon Park, vice president of Hyundai’s N Brand Management Group. “This milestone marks the 10th anniversary of Hyundai N and our enduring collaboration with Polyphony Digital.”
Beyond the new car, the January 2026 update will also introduce a Hyundai N-themed menu in GT Café, along with expanded content in the Hyundai Museum at Brand Central. These additions are designed to give players deeper insight into the development and history of Hyundai’s performance brand within the game.

NZ connection
While the Gran Turismo debut focuses on Hyundai’s global motorsport footprint, the announcement also lands with local relevance. New Zealand remains a key part of Hyundai’s real-world competition programme, with Hayden Paddon and co-driver John Kennard continuing to play central roles in the marque’s FIA World Rally Championship efforts. That link between top-level motorsport and virtual racing underlines Hyundai N’s broader strategy of connecting competition, road cars and digital platforms.
