Starting off the range is the Kona Active which is priced at $42,990, featuring a petrol 2.0-litre four-cylinder that sends 110kW and 180Nm of torque through a continuously variable transmission (CVT). An optional N Line package is available at an extra cost, bringing the total price to $49,990.

Kiwis will also be able to spec their Kona Active with a 1.6-litre four-cylinder hybrid that produces 146kW and 265Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed dual clutch automatic for $52,990. Tacking on the N Line package brings the price to $59,990.

Pricing for the Kona Elite has yet to be revealed but customers will be able to choose from the two aforementioned engines that feature on the Active variant.

All Kona models will come with alloy wheels as standard, as well as LED headlights and taillights, and dual-zone climate control.

Those who opt for higher-specification variants will get a Bose eight-speaker sound system and a power tailgate.
