T1 to lead Arcfox entry to New Zealand
Words: Kyle Cassidy
The Arcfox electric vehicle brand will debut in New Zealand next month, leading with the T1 compact crossover. Arcfox is a division of BAIC Group, the brand established in 2017 with a focus on technology-led electric vehicles. In New Zealand, it is part of the growing portfolio of Auto Distribution Holdings.

Said to be positioned as a more upmarket, innovation-driven offering, Arcfox aims to bring advanced EV technology to Kiwi buyers without the high price tags typically associated with premium electric models.
Leading the local launch will be the Arcfox T1, a compact crossover SUV designed with urban use in mind. The T1 features a raised ride height and a focus on interior space and comfort.

Power comes from a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, delivering a claimed driving range of more than 300km (WLTP).
The T1 will offer a suite of features including advanced driver assistance systems such as autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian collision warning and lane departure warning, alongside a full complement of airbags.

Pricing is expected to be a key drawcard. The T1 will launch with a limited-time price of $34,990, a saving of $2K.
According to Auto Distribution Holdings CEO Simon Rutherford, the brand’s arrival comes at a time when Kiwi motorists are increasingly looking to reduce fuel costs and emissions.
The T1 will be backed by a six-year, 200,000km warranty, and additional Arcfox models are expected to follow as the brand establishes itself locally.
