BMW M Snow & Ice Experience returns to Kiwi slopes for 2026
Words: Andrew Sluys
BMW’s iconic M Snow & Ice Experience is confirmed to return to New Zealand in 2026.
The event, which last took place in winter of 2024, will take place from August 4-12 at the spectacular Southern Hemisphere Proving Ground, between Queenstown and Wanaka.
The experience gives the chance for enthusiasts to feel what it’s like to drive BMW’s high-performance vehicles in low-grip scenarios.

With tracks carved out of the snow and ice, it allows people to hone their oversteering skills in a safe environment.
Vehicles on offer include BMW’s M3, M3 Touring, M440i convertible or coupe and X3 M50 as well as MINI Countryman models.
The experiences include; motorkhana, drag sprint, barrel race and drifting. A high-speed passenger ride with an instructor aboard a BMW M3 completes the day.
Alongside the driving experience, BMW’s packages include snow bus transfers to the Southern Hemisphere Proving Ground, as well as a BMW M-branded jacket.
The premium option adds two nights accommodation at the Millbrook Resort, plus a one-way helicopter transfer up to the facility.
