Chevrolet unveils special-edition Corvette Z06 dedicated to Bathurst
Words: Andrew Sluys
Chevrolet has unveiled the Corvette Z06 Bathurst 12 Hour Specialty Edition which arrived alongside the Corvette Z06 GT3.R at the iconic endurance race.
Limited to just 12 vehicles (which reflects the 12 hours of racing), this special edition Corvette is only available to buyers in New Zealand and Australia.

Based on the track-focused Z06 3LZ Coupe, the Bathurst 12 Hour Specialty Edition features a slew of visual changes on the outside and the inside.
It is finished in an exclusive Switchblade Silver hue, which is contrasted by a carbon fibre roof.
It gets 20-inch wheels at the front, and 21-inch wheels at the rear, which feature Corvette Racing centrecaps.

Beneath these wheels it gets blue brake calipers, which match the Santorini Blue nappa leather interior.
As it is fitted with the Z07 Performance Package as standard, Brembo carbon ceramic brakes, Michelin Pilot Sport tyres, and a carbon fibre aero package is included.
In honour of its exclusivity, each Corvette will get a Bathurst 12 Hour Edition build plate, numbered from 01 to 12.

The few lucky buyers will also receive a Bathurst 12 Hour Edition print, a GT3.R car cover, and a merch pack.
Despite a promising start to the race, Corvette’s hopes of a Bathurst 12 Hour victory with the GT3.R didn’t come off.
With just 90 minutes left of the race, a rear suspension failure threw Kiwi star Earl Bamber into the wall, leading to an early retirement.
