Chevrolet has confirmed the Camaro will return to production in 2027, but it’s unclear as to what its revival will look like.
A report published by Autonews details how this new Camaro will be built at GM’s Lansing Grand River plant, which is where the old model was produced.

It will reportedly be based on GM’s Alpha platform, which not only underpinned the last Camaro, but is also used by the Cadillac CT4 and CT5.
This will be great news to most enthusiasts, as it means this new Camaro won’t be an SUV or crossover of any sort.
While it could still break cover as a coupe, there’s also a chance it becomes a sedan, given its Cadillac connection.
The source also claimed a new Buick model will also be produced at the same time, but there’s even less of a chance we’ll see that in our parts.

As for what sort of engine this new Camaro will get is anyone’s guess. The platform supports everything from four-cylinders to supercharged V8s.
There’s also a chance it could make use of the new 6.7-litre V8 that’s going into the Corvette Grand Sport.
Speaking on this new Camaro, the GM Authority source explained how it “might not be exactly what you would expect.”
This points to the new Camaro being a four-door, which would leave the Mustang in its own lane, and take the fight to the new four-door Dodge Charger.
For now, this is the only information we have, but it’s likely this new Camaro will materialise in the coming months.
