GMC has shown its commitment to the revived Hummer brand by debuting a pair of electric concepts over the weekend.
Revealed as the GMC Hummer X SUV and truck concepts, these vehicles take the design language from the first Hummer EV and up the ante.

While GMS has stated that these concepts “not intended for production”, they followed this up by saying how they are a “testbed for new technologies.”
The Hummer brand was revived by General Motors in 2021, with an electric SUV and truck, sold beneath GMC.

At around 4.5-tonnes on the road, these EVs are some of the heaviest vehicles currently sold in the US.
These two vehicles remain on sale in the US currently, but it’s clear GM is looking to make the brand more off-road friendly with these new concepts.

Given the popularity of the Jeep Wrangler and Ford Bronco in the US, it would make sense to see General Motors enter the segment with its own offering.
No other brand in General Motor’s stable features such a rich off-road heritage, so it makes sense to see Hummer become this.
Measuring at over 5.2-metres long, the Hummer x Truck is massive. The SUV is slightly smaller at 4.7-metres.

Both ride on 37-inch Goodyear all-terrain tyres that are wrapped around bead locking wheels.
While no powertrain details have been revealed, we can assume they make use of the same 212kWh batteries as the current model.
