MG Motor boosts ZS range with arrival of turbocharged Vibe model

Words: Andrew Sluys

MG Motor New Zealand has announced pricing for the ZS Vibe Turbo, which now represents the entry-point to the range.

Starting from $27,990, the ZS Vibe Turbo is priced at the same point as the ZS Excite, giving buyers more choice below the $30,000 mark.

As the name suggests, the ZS Vibe turbo features a forced-induction 1.5-litre petrol engine, which ups the power output by 54 per cent.

This leaves the compact SUV with peak output figures of 125kW and 275Nm of torque, which is paired with a continuously variable transmission.

As is standard across the ZS range, this entry-level model is exclusively front-wheel drive.

Aside from the increase beneath the bonnet, standard kit is inline with what you’d expect from an entry-level model.

It gets 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, a 3.5-inch digital cluster, and a 10.25-inch infotainment screen.

Apple Carplay and Android Auto are available with the aforementioned system, but you’ll need to plug your phone in to get it to work.

MG Motor’s full safety suite is also standard, including autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, blind spot detection, adaptive cruise control and rear cross traffic alert.

It’s also backed by MG’s 10-year warranty.
