BYD is celebrating hitting the 15 million vehicle milestone.

According to the Chinese brand, the milestone-marking new energy vehicle rolled off the production line in Jinan last week.

A DENZA N8L luxury SUV was the vehicle in question, one that Kiwis will likely become familiar with in the future.

As for 2025 sales figures, BYD has achieved 4.182 million units globally, which represents an 11.3 per cent increase year on year.

Interestingly, overseas markets are a key metric for BYD, with 917,000 units sold outside of China.

Locally, BYD has just recently surpassed 10,000 vehicles sold since the brand’s launch in 2022.

New Zealanders are currently able to order two models in the Denza range — the B5 and B8 “super hybrid” SUVs.

Denza is positioning itself as a new premium option in the electrified SUV space, supported by the launch of the House of Denza—a brand experience hub designed to pair its vehicles with higher-end lifestyle offerings and customer services.
