MG has used its appearance at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed to show off the new Go! Concept.
Reportedly taking styling inspiration from the likes of the MGB GT and MG 6R4 Group B rally car, the brand thinks they’re onto a winner.
The rally heritage is arguably more obvious with the concept wearing large fender flares, and low-lying bumpers.
It was penned by MG Motor’s Design Centre in London, which is led by Carl Gotham.
“It is not about looking back for its own sake, but about capturing some of the clarity, charm and emotional appeal that have always made MG so distinctive, and reinterpreting that in a way that feels relevant today and crucially creating something with strong charisma,” says Gotham.
It is understood this concept will go on to become the new MG 2 supermini, rivalling the likes of the Renault 5 and Mini Cooper.
Alongside the Go! Concept, MG also unveiled an SUV concept that has been dubbed the ‘Cyber’.
This one takes its styling inspiration from a far more obscure piece of MG’s history — the EX181 land speed record vehicle.
There’s no doubt it features a streamlined silhouette, but I’d say it’s more similar style-wise to that of the Ferrari Purosangue.
MG has basically confirmed that the Go! Concept will head into production as the 2 in the next couple of years, whilst the Cyber is a fair way off.
