DENZA has launched its first major over-the-air (OTA) software update for the B5 and B8 in New Zealand, and it’s a big one — bringing improvements to towing, off-road capability, safety and everyday convenience, all at no cost.
The Version 1.1.0 update is reportedly the result of customer feedback and engineering work tailored to New Zealand driving conditions.

Towing gets a notable upgrade on both vehicles. B5 owners gain cruise control while towing — handy for reducing fatigue on long highway hauls — plus a dedicated towing mode switch and trailer weight selection, which lets the vehicle automatically adjust its performance parameters for improved stability and safety.
The B8 also picks up cruise control in towing mode, alongside dynamic range estimation for more accurate real-world towing confidence.
Inside the cabin, the Head-Up Display now shows turn signal indicators for better driver awareness. Both models gain a driver password lock for added security, while the B8 receives improved anti-jam resistance for its second- and third-row folding seats.

DENZA Australia & New Zealand Chief Operating Officer Mark Harland says the update reflects the brand’s commitment to its customers. “Whether it’s improved towing capability, greater off-road confidence or enhanced convenience and safety features, these updates are designed to deliver meaningful improvements that customers will notice in everyday driving.”
The update is rolling out digitally now — no dealership visit required.
