Kia New Zealand has confirmed pricing for its all-new PV5 electric van, with the Cargo 5DR variant arriving in the fourth quarter of 2026 from $64,990 plus on-road costs.

A passenger version is also slated for Q4 2026, while the taller Cargo High Roof joins the line-up in early 2027. Pricing and specifications come from Kia’s New Zealand website.

That sticker puts the PV5 above the recently launched Farizon V7E, which kicks off at $55,990, but well under established rivals like the Ford e-Transit Custom and Peugeot e-Partner.

Power comes from a 120kW front-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 250Nm, fed by a 71.2kWh NCM battery. Kia quotes a WLTP range of up to 416km, competitive for the segment and enough to cover most metro delivery duties with charge to spare.

Tradies and fleet buyers get 4420 litres of cargo space and a 690kg payload in the standard 5DR. The van measures 4495mm long, 1895mm wide and 1899mm tall, riding on a 2995mm wheelbase. Step up to the High Roof and cargo volume grows to 5165 litres, with overall height rising to 2100mm.

Charging is handled by a standard 11kW AC onboard charger, with a 22kW unit available as a $2000 option. DC fast charging peaks at 150kW, with Kia claiming 10 to 80 percent in around 30 minutes.

Standard kit is generous for a working van. Vehicle-to-load capability with an interior plug means you can run tools or appliances off the battery, while a heat pump helps preserve range in cooler weather. Kia Connect brings connected services and over-the-air updates.

PV5 interior
A very comfortable interior is offered, but dash storage is short for commercial customers

Inside, drivers get a 12.9-inch satellite navigation display, wireless phone charging, and both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Safety tech includes forward collision avoidance assist, lane keep assist, smart cruise control with stop and go, and blind spot collision avoidance assist.

Buyers can add dual manual sliding doors for $500. Paint runs from standard Clear White through to premium finishes including Steel Grey, Aurora Black Pearl, Cityscape Green and Soft Mint Gloss at $1500 each.

The PV5 range will eventually extend to standard and high roof Cargo models in five and six-door configurations, plus a seven-seat passenger variant.
